Quick Access
What is a Location?
Locations are named places in TeamMap - buildings, sites, checkpoints, or any point of interest your team needs to reference.
Location Uses

Viewing Locations
- Tap Locations from the More menu
- See locations in a list sorted by distance
- Use the search bar to find specific locations
- Tap any location to view details
Location Card Shows:
- Location name and address
- Distance from you
- Associated client (if any)
- Quick action buttons
Location Details
Each location includes:

Navigating to Locations
Get directions to any location:
- Open the location
- Tap Get Directions
- Your phone’s Maps app opens with navigation
Or from the map:
- Tap a location pin
- Tap the Directions button
- Navigate to the location
Check-in Zones
Check-in zones define a boundary around a location for:
- Check-in verification - Must be within range to check in
- Automatic check-in - Auto check-in when you arrive
- Alerts - Notify when team arrives or leaves
When checking in, you’ll see:
- Your distance from the location center
- A progress bar showing how close you are
- Green indicator when within the geofence
Post Orders
Post orders are instructions specific to a location.
Viewing Post Orders
- Open the location
- Tap the Post Order tab
- Read the complete document
- Some shifts require acknowledging the post order before check-in
You’ll only need to acknowledge a post order once per version. If it’s updated, you’ll be asked to review again.
Locations on Map
Locations appear as emerald pins on the map:
- Open the Map tab
- Location pins show across the map
- Tap a pin to see location details
- Use Nearby to see locations closest to you
Location Forms
Link forms to locations for site-specific documentation:
When at a location:
- Open the location
- Tap Forms to see available forms
- Fill out location-specific checklists or inspections
- Submissions are tagged with the location
Checkpoint Sensors & Scan Codes
Some locations have tap sensors or scan codes to prove you were there:
- Look for the sensor icon on the location card
- Tap or scan when checking in or completing tasks
- This proves you were physically at the location
Common Questions
How do I find the nearest location?
The Locations list is sorted by distance by default. You can also use the “Nearby” filter to see only locations within a certain radius.
Can locations be linked to clients?
Yes. Each location can be associated with a client for billing and reporting purposes.
What’s the difference between a Location and a Check-in Zone?
A Location is a named place with an address. A Check-in Zone is a boundary around a location that controls where you can check in from.
How do I update a location’s address?
Contact your admin to update location details.
Can I create my own locations?
Depends on your permissions. Ask your admin if you need to add new locations.
